SeeShell cranial implants
3D-printed implants shaped to the contour of the mouse skull, giving long-term optical access to large areas of dorsal cortex. Choose the head-fixed version for imaging under a microscope, or the freely behaving version to carry the mini-mScope.
- CoverageUp to 8 × 10 mm of cortex in one field
- WindowBiocompatible, optically clear PET (cranial window versions)
- ImagingTested for high-resolution 1-photon and 2-photon imaging
- StabilityStable for more than a year after implantation
- FitTwo footprints, for somatosensory or motor cortex
Head-fixed implants
Mount to a titanium headplate for imaging under 1-photon or 2-photon microscopes. Pair with the MagKine docking platform for fast, repeatable head-fixation.
Freely behaving implants
Built-in magnets let the mini-mScope dock onto the implant in under a second, for wide-field calcium imaging while the mouse moves freely.
Custom implants
Need a different contour, window size or brain region? We design and manufacture custom 3D-printed cranial implants for mice.
