Objective Biotechnology is an innovative start-up located in the Minneapolis, MN that designs and manufactures research-use-only instrumentation for gene editing and neuroscience labs around the world. We are passionate about advancing the frontiers of research through precision-engineered tools and systems.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to support our internal R&D and production efforts. This part-time position is ideal for university students interested in hands-on research hardware, laboratory work, and exposure to cutting-edge science. The role may transition to a full-time opportunity in 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in light manufacturing of consumable components for internal research and customer use.
Maintain Drosophila (fruit fly) lines, ensuring healthy cultures and accurate record-keeping.
Support R&D experiments aimed at improving system performance and developing new applications.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
Occasionally assist with preparation for customer demonstrations, travel, or conferences.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; current university students in biology, neuroscience, engineering, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Strong attention to detail and steady hands — comfortable working with delicate materials.
Dependable and self-motivated — able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Eligible to work in the United States.
Willingness to travel occasionally for customer site visits or conferences, if needed.
